Patrizia Pepe is happy to contribute to the art4sport NPO – an association founded in 2009 by Bebe Vio’s parents – creating a project with the evocative title Fly2Tokyo to follow the sporting journey of 10 young athletes who are preparing for the next Paralympics held in Tokyo from 25 August to 6 September 2020. The iconic Fly, Patrizia Pepe’s distinctive symbol, has been revisited by the brand’s creative teams, becoming the hallmark of the project that will follow the athletes on their journey to Japan over the months of the event. For the occasion, the brand was able to follow and get to know the athletes closely and these meetings resulted in mini video clips that reveal their determination to qualify for the Paralympics. The journey entails preparation, commitment, competitions for qualification and the thrill of victory, as well as the disappointment of defeat. Ten true stories about ten fantastic youngsters who are pursuing a dream: it is not important who reaches the goal; what matters is ensuring that more and more people can get involved in the Paralympics.
In addition to Bebe Vio, the other athletes involved in the project are: Emanuele Lambertini (fencing), Edoardo Giordan (fencing), Veronica Plebani (paratriathlon), Riccardo Bagaini (athletics), Marco Pentagoni (athletics), Lorenzo Marcantognini (athletics), Davide Obino (basketball), Vittoria Bianco (swimming) and a tenth athlete yet to be confirmed. The project will be featured on the patriziapepe.com website starting 30 October 2019 and will be the focus of a television project created by Stand by me for RAIPLAY.
